Dr. Abdulla Kamal, a graduate of Baghdad University, harbored a dream of establishing a 24-hour full-service medical facility in Bahrain, an unprecedented venture in the region. Despite discouragement, he boldly pursued his vision, opening his private clinic on Sh. Isa Avenue on November 2, 1974, initially consisting of rented rooms in his brother-in-law’s house.
Through unwavering determination, hard work, and the support of his family, especially his wife Lotte Kamal, the clinic thrived. Welcoming new doctors in 1982, 1983, and 1987, it became Bahrain’s first 24-hour clinic. Dr. Kamal’s foresight led to the purchase of new premises in 1985, which evolved into a modern clinic and later expanded in 1991.
Despite Dr. Kamal’s passing in 1995, his legacy endures, and the clinic, continuously expanding its services, is recognized as a pivotal milestone in Bahrain’s private medical practice. Beyond comprehensive medical services, it features a fully equipped laboratory, minor operating theater, ECG, stress tests, home visits, and a radiology department with ultrasound, X-rays, and fluoroscopy. Dr. Abdulla Kamal remains the revered “father of private practice in Bahrain.”
