The Ministry of Health (MOH) is an integral part of Bahrain’s health system, operating under the Supreme Council of Health. It plays a crucial role in issuing decisions and policies related to health financing and is responsible for quality, planning, and training in alignment with Bahrain’s 2030 vision. With the implementation of health insurance and the new health system vision, the MOH’s role has transitioned from being a provider of curative health services to a regulator, observer, and evaluator of health services. It works in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Health, its specialized committees, and the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
